Car stolen and crashed into tree in grounds of University of Nottingham

A car has been stolen and crashed into a tree in the grounds of the University of Nottingham’s University Park Campus on Beeston Lane.

At around 8.45pm on Tuesday (June 12), Nottinghamshire Police assisted Derbyshire Police in searching for a Vauxhall Astra bearing cloned number plates.

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen following a burglary in Beeston and then crashed at around 10.45pm following a police pursuit.

Two occupants, believed to be a man and a woman, fled on foot following the collision.

The male is white and of stocky build with short cropped hair; he was wearing a light grey t-shirt.

Police are appealing for any information and for witnesses to come forward by calling the force on 101 quoting incident number 887 of June 12.
