Clifton road closure branded ‘outrageous’ by Nottingham City Transport

Nottingham City Council has closed the right hand turn from A453 into Green Lane West in Clifton despite overrunning tram works.

NCT who requested that the road stay open said that the closure will have a significant impact on customers and  they have been forced to make major changes to their Clifton services.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience these diversions cause, but regret with our request to not close this junction declined we are left with no alternative.”

David Astill NCT’s Commercial Manager

The road, which will be closed for 2 months from 8pm on February 12, means there will be no direct access to shops and facilities on South Church Drive.

This is because Farnborough Road at Clifton Pastures is still closed due to over running tram works.

“This situation in Clifton is outrageous for our customers, who have now endured diversions and delays to services for 2 years despite assurances that this closure would not happen until Farnborough Road re-opened,” said David Astill, NCT’s Commercial Manager.
