Council staff are preparing to move to the new Rushcliffe Arena building as the £10 million-plus scheme nears completion.
The new combined leisure centre and an council office building on Rugby Road, West Bridgford, is due to open next month.
It will replace offices at Rushcliffe Civic Centre and also provide a new public sports hall, gym, and 25m swimming pool.
Rushcliffe Borough Council announced its staff are now packing up and planning to move ahead of the official opening in January.
The authority also released pictures of the new building, which is due to open on time despite the site being hit by an arson attack on the old arena building site in September 2015.
Rushcliffe Borough Council has been based in the old Rushcliffe Civic Centre, on Pavilion Road, overlooking Trent Bridge, since 1982. It is now up for sale.
Councillor Neil Clarke, Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council said: “This is a momentous time -years of planning are about to come to fruition. Not only have we enhanced sports provision in the borough, but we’re reducing our on-going running costs, making more efficient use of tax payers’ money.
“Our new, purpose-built facility works for a modern council and meets the needs of the community, and staff and councillors are excited to start working from the new office.”
Leisure facilities at the new centre will be run by private company Parkwood Leisure.
