10 ducklings were released into the wild by Sherwood vets – after waddling up the drive of the clinic seemingly lost.
A mother and her ducklings were spotted around 3pm yesterday (June 15) on the drive of Arnwood Vets, in Sherwood, and staff spent more than an hour rounding the animals up into a cat basket.
Vets then released them into a pond at Arnot Hill Park around 4.30pm.
Debbie Allen, a receptionist at the vets, said she didn’t know where the animals had come from as there “doesn’t seem to be any water for miles”.

She said: “A client said they walked across Winchester Street and decided to walk up our drive.”
She added vets Matteo Malinverno and David Giffin caught the ducklings first as the mum flew off and circled in the air – before coming back to her offspring.
Ms Allen said: “We kept moving the ducklings into the vets in the side door so they wouldn’t be disturbed and she, the mum, eventually went in as well.
“We can’t work out where they came from. Where we are there doesn’t seem to be any water for miles.”
Vets Nikki Touvey and Sadie Shoebridge drove and released them at Arnot Hill Park, in Arnold.
