Elderly man ‘now in critical condition’ after bus accident outside Victoria Centre

An elderly man and woman hit by a bus outside the Victoria Centre in Nottingham are still in hospital being treated for serious injuries.

The pair were hurt in the incident on Lower Parliament Street at 11.05 am on Tuesday.

Notts Police say both are still being treated at the Queen’s Medical Centre. A force spokesman said the man is in “a critical condition”.

The woman has serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Officers closed off a section of Lower Parliament Street for several hours after the incident, diverting traffic around the city while they examined the NCT bus involved.

No arrests have been made and it is understood the incident is being investigated as a tragic accident.
