Man rescued from utility shaft inside Britannia Hotel

Emergency services have rescued a man who became trapped in a utility shaft at the high-rise Britannia Hotel in Nottingham.
Fire, police and ambulance crews were all called to the incident just off Maid Marian Way early on Friday morning (January 26).
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted at 9.55am: “The incident at a hotel off #MaidMarianWay has been dealt with – this involved an individual trapped in a utility shaft within the building.
“They have now been rescued from the shaft and are in the care of the ambulance service.”

The hotel remained open during the incident.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service later added crews had initially answered a call saying the man had fallen, but on arrival found he had only become ‘entangled’ in a service shaft.
The man was not seriously hurt.
