Nottinghamshire Police arrested a student after a teacher at Emmanuel School in West Bridgford suffered suspected knife wounds.

Officers were called to the school on Gresham Park Road on Wednesday at 1:30pm.

A 16 year old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, he was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“Increasingly if you have a difficult pupil the likelihood is that there will be some kind of outburst against the teacher.”
