Notts County Ladies bring FA Cup Trophy to a Nottingham school

Two of Notts County’s ladies visited a Nottingham school with the FA Cup Trophy to inspire future female football players.

Two ladies from the Notts County Ladies team who are finalists in the FA Cup, came to visit Nottingham University Samworth Academy as they took a break from their training.

Alex Greenwood recently returned home to a warm welcome with the England Ladies team after achieving the best-placed finish by a national team at the World Cup since the men’s side in 1966, inspiring female players across the country.

Dani Buet and Alex Greenwood took the chance to teach a group of the girls at the school a few of their football skills in an attempt to inspire more of them to get involved.

We aim to inspire the nation and if that’s what we’re doing then we’re doing our jobs properly.

The girls at Samworth Academy got the chance to raise the FA Cup Trophy and were excited to see the Notts County players.

One of the students said: “It’s a good opportunity to see how good they can do and how better I can do.”

Another girl added: “In relation to the win girls are becoming recognised more because they’re doing better than the male football team.”

Their visit was all part of a project to get more female players involved in the sport.
