Fifty Shades film release boosts boudoir photography in Nottingham

Boudoir photography company, Photo Nottingham, says bookings are soaring in the run up to the Fifty Shades of Grey film release.

A Nottingham photographer says people seem have been inspired to book boudoir style photo shots by the erotic novel and film, Fifty Shades of Grey, due for release on Friday (February 13).

Photo Nottingham, on Mansfield Road, describes itself as ‘a friendly family portrait studio’ but booking for these racier style shoots have more than doubled in the last year.

Director at Photo Nottingham, Stuart McIntyre, say the boudoir shoots have been good for the company and thinks they’re a liberating experience for his customers.

It’s an escape from reality – it’s been well received and has become a really large portion of the business.

Each shoot lasts for around two hours followed by customers picking their favourite snaps of the day.

Mother-of-two and school dinner cook, 35-year-old Emma Clarke, took part in her first ever boudoir shoot on Wednesday (February 11) .

Emma, from Sandiacre, has taken part in family shoots  before but hoped the different style shoot would bring out another side of her personality.

It’s a confidence boost, something to say it doesn’t matter what we look like, we can still be beautiful and glamorous.

Other photography companies in the region have also said the trend is starting to take off and one firm told Notts TV they took their first boudoir booking last week  to meet the demand.
