Nottingham Forest have completed a £500,000 deal to sign Scotland international winger Barrie McKay from Rangers.

The 22-year-old high-rated McKay played under Reds manager Mark Warburton when he was in charge of the Gers.

He has signed a four-year deal at the City Ground, marking Forest’s second addition of the summer following the arrival of Jason Cummings from Hibs last month.

McKay had one-year remaining on his Rangers contract and was left out of the Europa League tie with Progres Niederkorn on Tuesday.

He was named in the Scottish Championship team of the year for 2015-16 and made his international debut at the end of that season against France.

McKay was part of the Rangers side that climbed all the way back from the Second Division, into the Scottish Premier League, following their demotion to the third tier in 2012.

He made 126 appearances for Rangers, including 90 starts, scoring 13 goals.
