Forest midfielder Lansbury awarded Championship Player of the Month

Henri Lansbury has left Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury has been named Championship Player of the Month for November.

The Reds captain earned the award for his contribution to Forests unbeaten league run in November.

The midfielder bagged the first hat-trick of his career at Oakwell as he helped his side to a 5-2 victory over Barnsley on Friday November 25.

The skipper also lead Forest to a 2-0 away win at Ipswich and a 1-1 draw with QPR at The City Ground to help turn around the clubs fortune in the league.

Lansbury is feeling “positive vibes” after scooping the award.

Lansbury said: “It is fantastic to be given this award and to be recognised for the hard work that has gone in over the last month.

“The award may have been given to me but it is recognition for the hard work that the whole team has put in to turn things around and go unbeaten in November.

“It is now up to us to maintain this form and keep picking up points, starting with the game against Derby on Sunday.”

Forest manager Philippe Montanier said: “I am delighted for Henri as his mentality on the training pitch and in matches is fantastic.

“He is one of many captains that we have and he has led by example; hopefully this good form can continue for the rest of the season.
“He is an excellent professional, providing great leadership on the pitch but also in the dressing room as he is a great role model for the younger players coming through at the club.”
Nottingham Forest tweet to congratulate their player.

The Reds take on arch-rivals Derby for the first time this season On Sunday (December 11) and Lansbury will be hoping to guide his side to another league win in the East Midlands derby.
