A former Nottinghamshire Police officer has appeared in court charged with misconduct and computer misuse offences.
Ex-Police Constable Nafessa Ali resigned in July 2022 and was charged following an investigation by Notts Police’s Professional Standards Directorate.
The charges relate to allegations between August 2020 and March 2022 while she was a serving officer.
Ms Ali appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court yesterday (March 20) charged with five counts of misconduct in public office and a computer misuse offence.
The 29-year-old, from the Meadows, is alleged to have used her position to look at and share information about live investigations.
She had previously worked as a response officer at Kirkby-in-Ashby Police Station. The charges span from when she was in both roles.
At yesterday’s court appearance, Ali was granted unconditional bail and is next due to appear at Derby Crown Court on April 17.
