IN PICTURES: Notts from the air

Ever wanted to get a birds-eye view of the city? Well that’s what Nottingham and Derby Hot Air Balloon Club are offering to the public as they try to make the sport more accessible.

The club, who have been running since 1978, run two balloons which take tours of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire skyline allowing passengers to see the stunning scenery from a new vantage point.

A head for heights is the only requirement to become a member of the club who are believed to be unique in the UK for being the only balloon group with membership open for the general public.

An annual fee is paid for membership which allows participation in as many flights as you wish and the price includes all equipment, gas and insurance expenses.

Something that the club do not offer is commercial flights for paying customers, although they do allow flights for immediate family and close friends of members.
