A man who was found intoxicated and curled up inside a cupboard following a break-in at a Bulwell casino has been jailed.

Brooklyn Anthony, 23, of Marton Road, Nottingham, was jailed for four months after pleading guilty at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Officers attended the Main Street casino at around 11:45pm on Friday (May 10) following the reports of an intruder still inside the property.

Upon reviewing CCTV footage, Anthony was pictured loitering around inside the casino, smashing doors, shaking a change machine, and attempting to open cupboards.

Police Constable Simon Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, commended the officers who attended the scene for their “rapid and efficient response.”

He said: “A burglar who was found intoxicated and curled up inside a cupboard following a break in at a casino has been jailed.

“We do not underestimate the impact burglaries of this nature can have on businesses so I’m pleased Anthony has been put behind bars just three days after the offence was committed.”
