Jake Ball took his first ever international wicket in England’s opening Test match against Pakistan at Lord’s.
In the first over of his second spell after lunch, the Notts seamer dismissed Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali for 7 with an LBW appeal.
The decision was given out by the on-field umpire with the Pakistan batsman opting to review the decision.
The review went in favour of the bowler.
This comes after Ball opened the bowling with fellow Notts bowler Stuart Broad with Ball’s first ever over resulting in six dot balls to Pakistan opener Shan Masood.
He also survived an LBW shout but was given not out as the ball pitched outside leg stump.
Ball’s first spell lasted for six overs ending with figures of 0/22 including two maidens.
