Labour has claimed victory and will retain overall control of Nottingham City Council after the Conservatives failed to win any seats on the authority for the first time in history.
The result was declared in the afternoon of May 5 at the Harvey Hadden Sports Village.
Nottingham Labour will now occupy 51 seats on the council, compared to 50 in 2019.
The Conservative Group continued its decline which began in 2019 with the loss of a seat in Wollaton, as the party now has no representation on the council at all.
Its demise was assisted by the departure of councillors Roger Steel and former group leader Andrew Rule, who both left the group to stand as independents in Clifton West.
Only councillor Rule was re-elected, with Labour’s Hayley Spain and her prominent campaigning in the ward proving fruitful as she was elected over her closest rival Roger Steel.
Meanwhile the Nottingham Independents, which began to mount an insurgence back in 2019, failed to increase its strength as an effective opposition despite fielding 26 candidates.
However all three candidates for Clifton East, including group leader Kevin Clarke, were re-elected.
The turnout was 28.01 per cent, just below the 29 per cent reported back in 2019.
