An 18-year-old man has died following a serious collision on the A46 near Newark in the early hours of Wednesday (September 27) morning.
A blue Seat Ibiza, which was travelling towards Newark, left the road between Showground Island and Winthorpe Island at around 12.30am.
Police have formally identified the main after pronouncing him dead at the scene.
The southbound carriageway was closed while investigations were carried out but it reopened at around 7.10am the same morning.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage, is asked to call Notts Police on 101 quoting incident number seven of September 27.
