A 55-year-old man who stalked a teenage girl on her commute to school will enter a sex offender programme.

Christopher McKee of Rasen Lane in Lincoln was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday (April 16) to a three year community order with sex offender programme and 200 hours unpaid work to be carried out over 12 months.

He previously pleaded guilty to one count of stalking and three counts of possessing indecent images.

DC Amy Revill who led the investigation said: “We are pleased with the outcome as it highlights the fact stalking is an offence that has to be taken very seriously, especially in this instance when it involved a young girl.

“Anyone who is concerned about stalking or thinks they are being targeted should report it to police on 101 as soon as possible.”

McKee began his obsession with the girl when he started a new job in Nottingham in September 2015.

It meant he caught a train every day and that’s where he first saw the teenager, who was 13-years-old at the time.

He searched for information about the teenager and found her home address where in 2017 he sent packages containing personalised CDs and postcards.

On one occasion, the girl was even handed a flyer which contained notes from McKee.

McKee was identified on CCTV in a Post Office from where he sent the parcels.

When British Transport Police arrested him as he got off a train, they found he had journals spanning two years in which he detailed his thoughts and desires about the girl along with a camera which contained pictures of the girl he had taken without her knowledge.

During the investigation indecent images were found on McKee’s hard drives.

McKee was also sentenced to a five year sexual harm prevention order and he will be on the sex offender register for five years.

A restraining order was also put in place which includes that he cannot be at Nottingham train station or travel on the trams in Nottingham.

An order to retain his devices which contained illegal images was also made.
