Arrest after man dies following Hyson Green assault

A man has been arrested after another man died in hospital following a serious assault in Nottingham.

Police were called to Pleasant Row, Hyson Green, at 6am on Monday (July 9) where they found a 40-year-old man had suffered a serious head injury.

Officers said they understood the victim had been hurt after a dispute with another man.

Pleasant Row is off Radford Road, close to Asda Hyson Green.

The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre but died on Monday afternoon (July 10).

Police said on Monday evening they had arrested a 39-year-old man after detaining him in another incident in Top Valley on Monday, where he was suspected of causing criminal damage. He was still in custody on Tuesday being questioned by detectives.
