Man found guilty of murdering mum and daughters in flat fire

A man has been found guilty of murdering a mother and her two daughters after starting a fire at their Clifton home.

Twenty-eight-year-old Fatoumatta Hydara and her children three-year-old Fatimah, and one-yera-old Naeemah, all died from smoke inhalation after their first-floor flat on Fairisle Close was set alight on November 20 last year.

Jamie Barrow, of Fairisle Close, admitted starting the fire but denied triple murder on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

But today, after a three-week trial at Nottingham Crown Court, the jury found Barrow guilty of all three murders, plus one count of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
