Man injured and delays across city after Old Market Square crash

A man has been seriously injured following a three-vehicle crash in Nottingham’s Old Market Square.

A bus and two lorries collided in Long Row, on the west side of the square, close to Yates’s, at around 7.40am on Tuesday (September 26).

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: “It’s believed one of the lorry drivers has suffered serious leg injuries. Long Row has been closed.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident which is ongoing.”

The bus involved is an NCT orange and green line 25 service.

“There has been an RTC at the bottom of Market Street,” the company posted on Facebook.

“Orange and Green line are using Maid Marian Way to reach Angel Row. No stops are missed but we have delays to these services.”

Some tram services were also affected, with delays of up to 20 minutes. The road was re-opened at around 11am after the scene was examined and cleared by police.
