Man stabbed in the chest in Lenton still in a critical condition

Police were called to Albert Grove after a 19-year-old was stabbed in the chest.

A 19-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest in a Lenton street is still in a critical condition, police say.

It happened at around 6am yesterday morning (November 1) on Albert Grove. The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre and police are still searching for his attacker.

On Wednesday (November 2) officers re-appealed for witnesses and said extra patrols had been organised.

Chief Inspector Mark Stanley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said, the victim remained in a critical condition.

He said: “We have stepped up patrols in the area to provide reassurance and we are doing everything we can to keep people safe.

“Incidents like this where the victim has sustained such serious injuries are incredibly rare. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family and friends at this difficult time.

“We’re re-appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information that could help our investigation. It may be that someone saw something just before, during or after this incident which could help us with our enquiries. It may be that someone captured dash cam footage of the incident as they set off for work.”
