Mansfield Town will unveil their new manager on Wednesday just two days after Adam Murray left the club.
Murray stood down following a meeting with chairman John Radford on Monday.
A club statement read: “Adam asked to vacate his position as manager in the best interests of both himself and Mansfield Town Football Club.”
It was also confirmed that first team coaches Karl Hawley and Richard Cooper had also left.
On Tuesday a club statement read: “Mansfield Town will unveil their new manager on Wednesday afternoon.
“Chairman John Radford and CEO Carolyn Radford have wasted no time in their search for a successor to the managerial hot-seat.
“After narrowing the candidates down to two, the club is expected to appoint a manager whose experience and previous successes will excite the Stags faithful.”
Steve Evans is being widely tipped to be the man who has landed the job.
The 54-year-old Scot was sacked by Championship side Leeds in May and has been out of work since.
