PREVIEW: Notts looking to kick on in T20 grudge match against Derbyshire Falcons

Nottinghamshire will be looking to earn two wins from two in the T20 Blast competition when it returns to Trent Bridge on Friday night.

The Outlaws play Derbyshire Falcons in the first match between the two teams in any format this season.

Notts go into the fixture on the back of a narrow win against Lancashire by two wickets, while Derbyshire will be looking to build on their good start in third place.

Speaking about the win against Lancashire, Samit Patel said: “We will look back if we go further on in the competition that this could have been a turning point.

“It was good to get over the line in front of a good crowd and it was a bit of a relief in all honesty.

“We just need to get on a good run and see where that takes us.”

Nottinghamshire lost the opening two games at home to Birmingham and away to Durham but bounced back with a home win against reigning champions Lancashire.

Derbyshire won the opening game away at Lancashire before losing away at Northamptonshire and winning at home to Leicestershire.

The match starts at 7.15pm.
