Men face firearms charges after shotgun found at crash scene

Two men have been charged after a gun was found at the scene of a crash in Chilwell.

Police were called to the junction between School Lane and Field Lane, where a car had collided with other cars at around 2pm on Friday, May 5.

Gareth Wrenn of Winterton Rise, Bestwood Park, was arrested having been found injured.

The 24-year-old has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a shortened shotgun.

Armed officers then raided a house in Merchant Street, Bulwell on May 10 and arrested a 23-year old man.

Martin Faulkner of Bosworth Walk, the Meadows, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of a shortened shotgun and dangerous driving.

Both men have been remanded into custody until their court appearances.
