The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning of rain for Nottinghamshire.
The warning starts at 1pm this afternoon (Monday June 11) until 11pm this evening.
Showers are expected to form and then move eastwards across parts of northern England on Monday afternoon.
Accumulations of 20mm in an hour and 30-40mm in two-to-three hours are possible for some places but most will see much smaller amounts than this.
The showers will then gradually die out this evening.
The Met Office have said bus and train services could be affected with journey times taking longer and spray and flooding on roads could make journey times longer.
Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely according to the weather forecaster.
