Arrest after motorcyclist dies in crash on Sneinton A612

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the A612 Daleside Road.

The man, aged in his fifties, was travelling through Sneinton towards Colwick when the crash happened just after 6.30am on Wednesday.

The Colwick-bound side of the road is shut close to the KFC restaurant while police officers examine the scene.

Police said later in the morning a man had been arrested in connection with the rider’s death.

He was detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it is asked to contact Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 76 of April 6.

Police added the Colwick-bound side of the A612 is likely to be closed for the next few hours as the investigation continues.
