Mr Motivator visited Nottingham and inspired hundreds of people to shake off the January blues with a public workout.
The former GMTV star and 90s fitness icon dusted off his loudest leotard and hosted back-to-back ‘Wake Up Shake Up’ fitness sessions at Nottingham Trent University’s student union.
More than 150 people, students, staff and public alike, turned out to kick-start the Wellness Week campaign, which Nottingham Business Improvement District has planned for a healthy 2018.
Running from Monday, January 22, to Sunday, January 28, the week is a digital campaign aiming to get city businesses to promote a healthy and stress-free lifestyle.
Mr Motivator said: “When they told me it was all about promoting wellness, togetherness and looking after yourself it was a natural fit for me. That’s why I’m here.
“We’ve all gone into neglect mode and don’t make time to look after ourselves. But, It’s never too late to start something new and you will see the benefits in the long run.”
In addition to the famous fitness fanatic were a wide variety of local food and drink businesses showing off healthy alternatives.

Stephen Jackson, director of Nottingham BID said: “When we started this just as an idea we though it was crazy and didn’t think it could work, let alone people turning out in numbers.
“It’s about awareness with hundreds of businesses in Nottingham who are putting forth products and services to help the people of Notts get fit and motivated.
“It’s been such a success we’re going to carry on, we really want to and there’s been so much demand for it.”
Mr Motivator, real name Derrick Evans, said: “Getting fit is one of those easy things, but you have to want to do it. One of the best things is going up the stairs, you’re out breath at the top, but repeat this ten times every day and the benefits are incredible.
“Every step you make uses 250 muscles, so you can imagine walking is good for you, there are so many things you can do.
“It’s critical that whenever you start, you practice changing an old habit to bring exercise into your life and then your confidence will grow.”
