Neighbours concern over Top Valley Academy expansion plans

Residents are concerned about plans for a new building on the site of Top Valley Academy.

The Nottingham school’s plans for a brand new building on the existing site has been met by concern from local people .

Complaints have been made about swearing and loud behaviour on the school field, and people living close by are unhappy that they have not had more of an input about how the new building will affect them .

City Councillor for the Bulwell Forest ward, Alan Clarke said: “The concern is not that they don’t want the building to go ahead, but that local people don’t think they have had an input.”

Sport England have put forward its view that the school needs to be much more open to community use, but residents are disgruntled by this.

” I understand that there have been serious complaints to the school about swearing and the school has acted on that.

Councillor Clarke will attend a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the plans for the new building .

He said:” I will need to get some clear assurances about the how the process is going to work and how the local people can have an input on the agreement sought by Sport England.”
