‘No threat to public’ as armed police seen in Lowdham

Armed police officers spotted in Lowdham on Thursday, May 22
Police say there’s no threat to the public after several armed police officers were seen in Lowdham.
Armed officers, police cars and response vans were in Station Road at about 1.45pm on Thursday (May 22).
Nottinghamshire Police did not confirm the reason for the presence and said there is an ongoing investigation taking place.
Armed officers had left the scene by about 2.30pm, but other cars were at the scene at about 5pm, an eyewitness told Notts TV.
A spokesperson for the force said: “There was a large police presence in Lowdham as part of an ongoing investigation.
“There will remain a limited presence over the coming hours.
“While this may appear alarming to the local community, there are no threats to the wider public.
“Unfortunately, we cannot release any further details at this moment in time as this is an active investigation.”
