Nottingham B&Q store denies ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ memo rumours

Nottingham B&Q store denies claims that staff have been told to read erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

News emerged this morning that B&Q staff have been told to read erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey in preparation for an increase in sales of rope, cable ties and duct tape.

The Fifty Shades of Grey book to film adaptation is set to hit the big screens in Nottingham this weekend to coincide with Valentines Day.

In one of the scenes, the main character Christian Grey visits a hardware store similar to B&Q and purchases items to use in the bedroom.

Staff were apparently sent memos so that they could respond in a sensitive nature to customers who wanted to re-enact the scenes from the book and feature film.

The manager of B&Q in Queen’s Drive Nottingham denies these claims and said: “It’s like an April Fools joke. None of our staff have received memos.”

Another staff member said: “I don’t know what the rumour is about but there’s nothing wrong with Fifty Shades of Grey! It’s great.”
