A bus driver helped an injured elderly lady from Beeston get to the hospital by taking a detour from his usual route.
Steve Loakes, 49, picked up the elderly woman in Beeston after she had fallen over and injured herself.
The woman was already trying to get to the Queen’s Medical Centre for a different appointment, but after her injury Mr Loakes decided to drive the bus to the entrance so he could escort her inside.
Steve said that the woman suffered a black eye and cuts and was bleeding from her face.

Mr Loakes was surprised to see the attention he received on Facebook after people read about the effort he went to for the injured woman.
He said: “It’s a part of our job, it’s a part of what we do, that’s what we are all about.

Trentbarton are trying to trace the woman who was injured to reunite her with the bus driver who drove her to the hospital.
The journey meant that the bus service was over 10 minutes late but Mr Loakes said he explained what was happening to all the passengers on board who were very understanding.
