Video: Notts TV visit pub with 100% vegan menu
A chef at the Peacock pub in Nottingham has added some sizzle to the sausage by replacing traditional pub classics with vegan friendly alternatives.
A vegan diet is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs and dairy products. The food does not come from any animal product and this is said to have great impacts for both animals and the future of the environment.
David Best has taken a twist on the classic pub burger by replacing the meat with a vegan friendly alternative of portobello mushroom stuffed with cream cheese, kale and bread crumbs.
He hopes to continue to tweak pub classics such as pies, burgers and fish and chips but in a vegan friendly way so that vegans do not have to miss out.
David said:” After research and using my initiative, I figured out the secret to recreate these classics in a vegan friendly way.”
When asked which of his recipes he would recommend, David confidently said: “The lasagne”.
