Nottingham-made comedy Charity Shop Sue will be broadcast across Britain as part of a Sky Arts Christmas comedy shorts season.

Starring Selina Mosinski and BAFTA-winning Nottingham actress Vicky McClure, the programme introduces TV audiences to Sec*hand Chances charity shop manager Sue Tuke, already a familiar face to a huge fan base on Facebook.

It will appear on Sky Arts at 10pm on Thursday, December 21.

Nottingham trio Stuart Edwards, Timothy and Matthew Chesney are creators, writers and directors and have been developing Charity Shop Sue for television with Nottingham production company Spool Films.

The film was produced by Spool Films with Vicky McClure guest producing and Nottingham director Shane Meadows as executive producer.

Penny Linfield, Producer at Spool Films, said: “This project has been in development for some time and has received incredible support from fans on social media.

“We’re really excited Sue and her world are finally reaching a national TV audience.

“We feel the programme has huge potential and hopefully highlights Nottingham’s fantastic home-grown talent and brilliant facilities.”

Vicky McClure added: “This is a true collaboration of Nottingham talent, it has Notts running through its veins; myself, Shane Meadows and Spool Films are all passionate about nurturing new talent so I’m really urging everyone to get on board and back this. Happy Christmas Bulwell.”

All three Sky Arts Christmas comedy shorts are available on demand ahead of next week’s broadcast, via Sky or Now TV.
