A persistent drug dealer with 18 previous convictions has found himself in jail once again after stuffing class A drugs down his trousers, running away from police and racially abusing an officer.
Jodie Brown was spotted sitting in a parked BMW by officers on May 23, 2024 in St Paul’s Terrace in Radford around 11am.
The force believed the car had connections to the drug trade and subsequently arrested Brown, who then attempted to run away despite being handcuffed.
The officers caught him and found packages containing wraps of heroin and cocaine stuffed in his trousers.
The following month, he was also found clutching wraps of class A drugs when police detained him in Sneinton Market.
When officers found further wraps of heroin and cocaine, as well as mamba – lab-made drugs often referred to as ‘spice’ – Brown was taken into custody, where he racially abused a police officer.
Brown, whose address is given as HMP Nottingham, was jailed for five years and seven months when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (7 March).
He had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, possession of Class A and Class B drugs, as well as causing racially aggravated alarm or distress.
Brown was also sentenced for two earlier offences involving drugs – including admitting illegally sneaking packages containing two mobile phones and cannabis into HMP Ranby in north Nottinghamshire.
Brown and Remel Kenlock, 30, of Merlewood Avenue, Manchester, pleaded guilty to two counts of conveying prohibited articles after the packages were thrown over the wall into the prison. Kenlock was jailed for 15 months, then suspended for two years.
Brown was sentenced for another incident, on 3 March 2023, when he threw a bottle of milk and a microwave down a flight of stairs in Beeston.

Police found heroin in his pockets and he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug in relation to the incident.
Detective Sergeant Hannah Frame, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Brown thought he could get away with his offending by stuffing drugs down his trousers.
“He then attempted to run from the scene while in handcuffs. Brown is a persistent drug dealer with a number of previous offences to his name and has clearly not learnt from previous spells behind bars.
“Class A drugs continue to ruin the lives of vulnerable people in our communities, but we know outcomes like this one can seriously disrupt the illegal trade. We work closely with the prison authorities to prevent drugs being conveyed into prisons as we know the risks they can cause to both other inmates and staff.”
