Nottingham Forest v Burnley: Freedman readying Reds to bounce back

Video: Dougie Freedman talks about his relationship with the chairman

Nottingham Forest crashed to their first defeat in 13 league outings last Saturday and now face a trip to promotion hopefuls Burnley in order to get their own play-off push back on track.

Huddersfield Town defied the odds at the City Ground to take a 2-0 win on Trentside.

The Reds were well below their usual standards against the Terriers but Forest boss Dougie Freedman wanted to right those wrongs straight away.

Hull’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal at the weekend meant that Burnley will be the first opportunity for the Reds to get back to winning ways.

We’ve actually learnt from our failures and embraced them

Dougie said: “It was a bit frustrating on Saturday because we wanted to keep the momentum going, we wanted to bounce back but what I will say about this great team is that they have learnt from their failures, there’s no blame put on these players.

“In the past, I think we’ve seen a blame culture but that’s been wiped out the football club now. We’ve actually learnt from our failures and embraced them and just take it on the chin.

“When you can do that, you’re on the right road to recovery.”

Forest, usually solid defensively on their travels, will be tested tomorrow night by Championship top goalscorer Andre Gray.

Dougie may look to re-shuffle his side after the less-than-stellar display against Huddersfield, Ryan Mendes missed the clash with injury and will be pushing for a return.
