Backlit gallery has announced a new partnership with Tate in London and is taking one of its exhibitions down to the capital for three days.
The gallery has created a programme called ‘D.I.Y Machine’ which gets members of the public thinking and producing ideas and objects.
The theme of the exhibition is ‘social impact’ and gets people to think about making a difference or adding to a sense of enjoyment and wellbeing.
Backlit say the toolkit will ‘transport you around the floor and through the galleries at Tate, encouraging you to interact with artists and collections’.
The full exhibition will be at Tate from Tuesday (February 20) until and including Thursday (February 22).
The D.I.Y Machine has been developed in communities locally, nationally and internationally as a way for artists to make a change through social activism.
This comes after Backlit has been announced as one of Arts Council England’s latest additions to its NPO portfolio.
Backlit is an artist-led studios and gallery in Nottingham which provides space for 40 contemporary artists.
