Police arrested Mr Slade outside Nottingham Station on Saturday.

A Nottingham man has been arrested and charged with child grooming after being confronted by an online action group.

Ricky Slade, from the Meadows, was detained by police outside Nottingham Station on Saturday.

The moment was caught on video by the group, which then posted it online.

Mr Slade, of Houseman Gardens, was taken away and questioned, then charged with three attempts to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and one attempt to meet a child for sexual activity.

The 29-year-old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, November 21, where he was bailed to re-appear at Nottingham Crown Court on December 19.

Notts Police said officers arrived to make the arrest after being called by a member of the group as they confronted Mr Slade.

Ben Waters-Bleach from the group said: “Online grooming is a big issue in the UK and the problem is that police are understaffed to deal with it.”
