A Nottinghamshire councillor has appeared in court for the first time over child rape offences.
Jason Zadrozny, a county and district councillor, faces two charges of rape of a boy under the age of 16, and four counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16.
He has also been charged with three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a boy aged 13 to 15.
He appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court this afternoon for brief initial hearing.
Mr Zadrozny, 35, denies the allegations. The offences are said to have happened between September 2003 and September 2006.
He is Nottinghamshire County Councillor for Ashfield North and is an Ashfield Independents Larwood Ward member for Ashfield District Council.
He was arrested in March 2015 as he prepared to stand for the Liberal Democrats in Ashfield at the May 7 2015 General Election. He withdrew from the race and was suspended by the party.
Mr Zadrozny was bailed to re-appear at Nottingham Crown Court on April 27.
