Notts County defender future uncertain with no new contract yet

VIDEO: Hollis on County’s season so far and his views on the future

Haydn Hollis’s future is uncertain as he has not been offered a new contract yet with his current one set to expire at the end of the season.

Part of the back four that kept a clean sheet on Saturday against Stevenage, the 23 year old defender who has risen through the County youth ranks wants to remain at Meadow Lane.

Hollis believes that the recent return of Mike Edwards has helped his game and he wants to continue to work with him.

If you keep a clean sheet, you’ve done your job

Hollis said: “Edwards is a true professional; he’s a leader and he’s an organiser as he will talk to you and help you through the game.

“Any of the younger centre-halfs that are watching the game should watch Eddie as you don’t have to be pretty sometimes, you just need to head it and kick it.

“If you keep a clean sheet, you’ve done your job.”
