Former Notts County manager Charlie McParland says the club is taking a risk after signing 17 new players this summer.
McParland, was in charge of The Magpies from 2007 until 2009 and believes current manager Ricardo Moniz, may have a tough job keeping everyone happy.
“I’m a great believer in quality not quantity. If you have 15 players sitting in the stand watching the game and you’ve got your 11 out there plus your subs, all them players will be thinking they should be in the team. If you’re not winning every week, then it’s a major problem.”
“For me, the character of the player is always important when it comes to signings. It only takes one person to upset the balance.”

One of the new signings has already caught McParland’s eye.
“I went down the game last week and the right back on the night was very good. Gill Swerts, I thought he was very good. He’s played for Belgium before, I was really impressed with him.”
Notts County begin their season on Saturday 8th August away to Stevenage.
