Notts County look ahead to ‘Class of 92’ clash against Salford

Notts County, Meadow Lane

Notts County will take to the field against Salford City in a game sure to be influenced by the involvement of Manchester United’s ‘Class of 92’.

Former United players Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and brothers Gary and Phil Neville got together to buy Salford back in March 2014 with the ambition of making them a Championship club within 15 years.

The ‘Class of 92’ will be looking forward to the biggest game in Salford’s history tonight, as Notts County head to Moor Lane.

Phil Neville said the Friday night tie was “the perfect draw”.

Salford have recently been the subject of a BBC documentary which has followed the ex-premier league stars around the club.

Despite being non-league, Salford City will fancy their chances against Notts in a competition filled with giant-killings over the years.

Notts are unbeaten in four games and will want to keep their momentum going but Ricardo Moniz refused to underestimate both the opposition and the occasion.
