Notts TV goes live online with free TVPlayer service

Notts TV is now available live online through the TVPlayer service.

Notts TV has started broadcasting live online through a TV player service available on desktop computers and mobile devices.

The channel is now available for free 24 hours a day after joining the tvplayer.com service.

It means anyone across the UK and can watch Notts TV without paying a fee or needing to register with the site.

The channel becomes the first in the UK local TV network to join the service, which also includes an electronic programme guide and digital listings.

Iain Chambers, the channel’s head of creative, said: “We’re absolutely buzzing to be able to reach more people across the East Midlands and beyond than ever before.

“TVPlayer means virtually every household can access our local content live.”

Notts TV is available through the TVPlayer app, which can be downloaded on iPhones for free from the Apple App Store.

TVPlayer is an online broadcasting service available through web browsers and apps.

Android phone users can get the app through the Google Play Store, and TVPlayer is also available on AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV and Xbox One. It is also compatible with all Windows 10 devices.

Notts TV remains available on Freeview Channel 7, Virgin 159, and programmes are already available to watch for free online through the nottstv.com on demand service.

Chris Breese, the channel’s digital editor, said: “Being on TVPlayer is another big landmark first for the channel, and means you can watch us almost anywhere, anytime for free.

“It’s a big step to be able to broadcast live across so many platforms and devices, and will help us build new audiences.”
