One of Nottinghamshire Police’s most wanted men has been jailed for four years for burglary.

Shane Deakin, 35, of Hemlock Gardens in Nottingham, previously pleaded guilty to burgling three homes in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire between November 2 2016 and January 4 2017.

He stole cash, two cars and some jewellery and was arrested on April 13 2017.

Detective Constable Luke Todd of Notts Police said: “Deakin was an extremely prolific burglar and had been evading arrest for some time.

“We are grateful that he was caught and is now serving a lengthy sentence.

“I would like to thank all of the officers involved, in particular the intelligence teams who work tirelessly behind the scenes to build intelligence on criminal’s like Deakin and are detrimental in leading to their arrest.

“I hope this sends the message out that those wanted by police for any crime, no matter how small, are on our radar and we are doing everything in our power to bring them to justice.”

Upon sentencing him at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (August 18), the Judge said he had taken into account his guilty plea.
