Owl be back – Nottingham bird burglars bringing Ollie home

A wooden owl stolen from a Calverton pub and whisked off on a holiday around the world is coming home to roost.

Ollie the owl was last seen at the Admiral Rodney pub in Calverton in Nottingham where he’s had his nest for 18 months.

The kidnappers left a ‘ransom note’ for the pub owners, Richard Stevenson and Christy Jamieson, demanding that a donation be made to a charity of their choice in order to ensure the safe return of Ollie.

A few days later, Ollie reappeared as Oliver Howell on Facebook and posted photos of himself holidaying in Belfast, Dublin, Benidorm and Tunisia.

Facebooks fans have been eagerly following his adventures in Benidorm and Tunisia.

The kidnappers say Ollie will be brought home in August to coincide with the Bank Holiday weekend.
