Police are in attendance at a play area near Welbeck Walk in St Anns following a report of a serious sexual assault.
Detectives say a woman was approached by a man at a cash machine after leaving the nearby Mechanic Arms pub on Alfred Street North.
He talked to her for a short while before sexually assaulting her.
The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday July 11.
The victim is receiving the best possible care
Detective Inspector Ash Wilson said: “We are treating this report very seriously and our priority is to trace anyone who knows something about this.
“This is whilst our specialist officers ensure that the victim in this incident is receiving the best possible care.
