Front counter services at less busy police stations across Nottinghamshire are to be closed to save money.
Bulwell and Clifton police station front counters are to be closed today (January 12) with Broxtowe and Ollerton closing next Monday (January 26).
Hucknall, St Ann’s and Oxclose Lane are to close in the following weeks whilst Sutton Police Station will reduce its opening hours to 10am to 6pm.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “We are commited to providing the best service possible to the public and this means putting the right resources in the right place at the right time.”
“As such, we have reviewed our police station front counters and the decision has been to withdraw some of the services at our quieter stations.”
They said a survey would be launched in the near future to research the best method by which members of the public can contact the police.
