Video: John Sheridan says keeping clean sheets is a team effort
Notts County are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season and have consistently found themselves falling behind in games, something that needs to change before facing Cheltenham Town on Saturday.
That was the opinion of manager John Sheridan who says it’s something they’ve been working on in training this week, in the build up to their clash with Cheltenham at Whaddon Road.
He said: “It is something we need to cut out, we’ve gone through it a few times. We concede silly goals and then we are giving ourselves a mountain to climb. It’s something I’ve got to look at, whether it’s the system and we need to be tighter.
“We are creating chances but we can’t keep giving ourselves a mountain to climb.
“We are conceding in every game and that’s something we’ve got to look at and try to sort out quickly and if we do that it gives us a great chance of winning more games.”
A person that will be more concerned than most about the lack of shut outs is goalkeeper Adam Collin, with Scott Loach ready to jump in if Sheridan decides to change his man between the sticks.

Collin said: “Me and Loachy were team-mates at Rotherham together so we knew each other before the season started. It’s a good battle between me and Loachy, two experienced goalkeepers.
“He keeps me on my toes and vice versa, while we work closely with Kevin Pilkington.”
Team News:
John Sheridan may look to ring the changes after Accrington Stanley brushed them aside at Meadow Lane last Saturday.
One person who will be hoping to return to the starting XI is Adam Campbell. The pacey forward came off the bench with 15 minutes to go but was unable to make and impact and it could be Vadaine Oliver that makes way.
Stanley Aborah and Richard Milsom were also on the bench at the weekend and both will be pushing for a recall as Notts look to bounce back with a win at Whaddon Road.
