Video: ‘Run for Josh’ took place today (Sunday October 2)
A run to raise money in honour of a Stapleford boy who was found dead in the River Erewash took place today (Sunday October 2).
Runners got their trainers on at Bramcote Park to fundraise in memory of Josh Boothman, 13, after his friends organised the run to raise money for a memorial bench.
This comes after tributes and donations mounted for Josh who was reported to have fallen into River Erewash at around 3.40pm on Saturday September 24.
Emergency services were called but Josh did not re-surface and he was recovered from the river by Notts Police divers just after 5.30pm.
Stapleford North councillor Richard McRae, Stapleford Community Group and Stapleford Town Football Club helped with the organisation and the running of the event.
