Should athletes who dope face jail?

Hundreds of people have signed a petition calling for athletes caught using banned substances to face jail sentences.

Lord Moynihan, the former sports minister, called for Britain to follow countries including France, Italy and Australia by criminalising the use of prohibited substances under the World Anti-Doping Code.

It follows claims in a German documentary that one in three medalists in distances events at major competitions have returned suspicious tests.
